Artifact Overview
While cars were often marketed based on new designs and technologies, the past could also be a powerful sales tool. By 1937, when this dealership display was staged, Ford's Model T had been out of production for a decade -- long enough to evoke genuine nostalgia. The dealer even revived a vintage advertising slogan: "Watch the Fords go by."
